چکیده
Abstract Background There are limited robust population prevalence data and the natural history of central hypersomnolence disorders in Australia. We conducted a retrospective chart review multiple sleep latency tests (MSLTs) an Australian Sleep unit reviewed clinical outcomes over time, response to treatment duration follow-up. Methods 517 MSLTs were extracted from metropolitan hospital’s database between 2011 2021; 215 positive. Data overnight polysomnography (PSG), electronic medical records. The results analysed using t-test linear regression models. Results mean age was 36.7 years 58% female. 37 patients met criteria for type 1 or 2 narcolepsy, 157 idiopathic 21 alternative disorder. Of those with 84.6% commenced on medication. Modafinil most commonly prescribed first line At year, 48% narcolepsy group had complete partial success, compared 24% group. 3 years, 31% 12% reported success. 5 only 19% 6% described ongoing Discussion This study demonstrated much higher than expected. A significant number lost follow-up, predominantly 12 months, progressive losses subsequent years. reasons these unclear; however, would be important explore future studies.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate and update the clinical and surgical outcome of orthotopic diversion in an eligible cohort of women with bladder carcinoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS From 1999 to 2010, 78 women (mean age 42.4 years) had a radical cystectomy (RC) with orthotopic diversion using ileal neobladder reconstruction to treat invasive bladder carcinoma. The mean (SD) follow-up was 62 (25) months. R...

متن کاملChallenging case of Muscle Bridge; a 15-year follow-up of a patient
Background: Anatomically myocardial bridging (MB) consists of either superficial myocardial fibers that traverse over the LAD or deep fibers that encircle the coronary artery. In this study, we present a patient with myocardial bridging, who was primarily diagnosed with coronary artery disease which did not properly respond to full-dose medical treatment but benefited from coronary artery bypas...
متن کاملT2 lesion location really matters: a 10 year follow-up study in primary progressive multiple sclerosis
OBJECTIVES Prediction of long term clinical outcome in patients with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) using imaging has important clinical implications, but remains challenging. We aimed to determine whether spatial location of T2 and T1 brain lesions predicts clinical progression during a 10-year follow-up in PPMS. METHODS Lesion probability maps of the T2 and T1 brain lesions w...

OBJECTIVES To identify MRI biomarkers associated with long-term disability progression in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), and to define the rate of evolution of global, tissue-specific and regional atrophy in patients with MS over long-term. METHODS MRI of the brain and clinical neurological assessment was performed in 81 patients at time of first visit and after 5 and 10 years of foll...
